New growth

I've been monitoring recently-sown seeds in the greenhouse but nothing was happening due to the endless grey skies.  

It was great to see the first sweet pea shoot emerge in time for the new year, which is always an exciting time for gardeners, when we feel we can finally allow ourselves to think about sowing seeds, ordering seed potatoes and covering the rhubarb for blanching.

Every growing year brings about renewed hope and a world of possibilities, which has been especially comforting in the last 2 years.
