Marina (?) and us

Another lovely day.
We "went" to my brother's church's Zoom service and then got a brief update from the hospital, but too early for much news so we went out for a walk.
The Witham used to be fairly inaccessible but  now there are paths on both sides and the lake in the pic is to be developed into a marina. The banks are being built up around it so the river one can be breached to allow access to the river.
We carried on to the next village (that once was on the river until the latter was restrained) and then back across the fields.
After lunch we phoned the hospital again and were told Mum was still quite unwell and, in view of this and that I'd travelled so far) I would be allowed in to visit.
She's very frail and tired, feeling slightly better but still couldn't be said definitely to be on the road to recovery. However, she was surprised and pleased I'd been let in and was able to chat a bit, ask about the family and knew what was happening, so that was good. We were all so grateful for the staff allowing the visit and know that they will do what is best for her. My brother and I later had a phone call from the doctor with a medical update and so we had a chance to confirm her wishes. Sad to see her so frail but glad to have seen her at all.
