Rainbow

There was no news from the hospital overnight so we assumed there was no deterioration in Mum's condition and, as we wouldn't be allowed any more hospital visits, there didn't seem any point in extending our stay.
I had a short run before breakfast (much colder) and after we set off home. It was beautiful until we were well north of Newcastle, apart from one heavy shower which produced this rainbow.
However, there was a sudden change just about where we stayed in September and the temp dropped from 8C to 4C in about 2 miles and there was havey sleety rain. From there until Edinburgh it got colder (1.5C min) though the rain was less heavy and it was dry north of the Forth. The last bit was taken steadily as we were almost out of fuel and the service station we stopped at didn't have any, the guage said we had a few miles left when we stopped about 4 miles from home.
Mr Rat and I had a short run from home, the legs needed a stretch after 7+ hours in the car.
We got an update on Mum, considerably better today, so we're praying that improvement continues and she doesn't get anything else in hospital. They are very short staffed but seem to be managing essential services.
