Catkins

Trying to get back into the walking routine again, thankfully in my case not caused by any illness or isolation, merely indolence or on some days recently having too much else to do. I headed east from Underwood Lock today and along the Canal to Bonnybridge. I then did a loop around Bonnyfield Nature Reserve before rejoining the Canal and then home.

Although I had spotted some buds on the trees recently, this was the first time I had noticed catkins (hazel, perhaps?) which given that the temperature was about 12° isn't too surprising if not a good sign for the planet.
