Winner dinner

Happy New Year everyone!

I had a most enjoyable family meal out on the evening of Hogmanay and then home for a reasonable time. However, I managed to doze off on the couch and slept right through the bells! (It was pretty quiet around here.) Off to bed and didn't wake up until about 9am, so 2022 didn't exactly start with a bang. I must be getting old.

Down to friends for dinner on New Year's Day, something of a tradition, and had an excellent meal and great company. The board games that followed gave us all a good laugh and then, finally, it was the great reveal of our Christmas Crafts for 2021/22. It's always great to see what we each have created from the random items we sent one another in October (this year's selection here) and marvel at the invention and skill behind the completed results.

After all the points were tallied, the winning craft (main picture) was declared to be that made by Rachel, a Christmas dinner that almost looks real. It's an amazing creation, especially given what she had to work with.

In other news, the craft item I made (remember we all started with the same random items) finished 10th (of twelve) - see extra - which means that I wasn't last for the first time in years. Result!

I'll try to put a collage of some of the other items into my extras later, so please check back in a wee while.
