Hover flies

There were several hover flies that I noticed in the garden this morning, and probably many more that I didn't.

Hover flies make me feel hopeful because they keep insect pests away which means we will have abundant flowers and our growing vegies will avoid attack. The hover fly in the main has a lot of yellow which is the colour of hope in some systems of colour symbolism. The one in the extra is on the parsley which is going to seed and also showing a lot of yellow.
