Hunting the Wren

'Hunting the Wren' in Weybourne, Norfolk.  This is Tony, the organiser, with cage. No birds were harmed! There were just a couple of dozen silly old folk walking the village and cliffs stopping to sing strange songs from time to time.

More traditionally celebrated on St Stephen's Day (Dec 26th) I've found a number of explanations for the persecution of the wee bird - the one I prefer is that it was a wren singing that gave away the hiding place of St Stephen to his pursuers in the days of old.
