Well Next The Church

The weather has been beautiful in Norfolk, only raining when we were indoors! We walked from Weybourne today to Sheringham. In Upper Sheringham, close to All Saints Church, is this intriguing and fairly unique edifice. It is a what we might call today a water feature - fed by a couple of streams apparently which are channelled into the stone bowl the structure contains.

The inscription is likewise intriguing (see extra) in that it seems to be celebrating a year of peace in the year before the Battle of Waterloo. Mmm.
