Flashy Fungus

I walked in the woods again today and found another little colony of fungus growing on a moss covered log. This time I was armed with a speedlight and had a little play with various power settings and positions! The camera does not allow use of a speedlight in ‘focus stack’ mode, so this is single shot. As you can see I had to compromise a bit on focus, but I quite liked the gills lit up like this.

I have an idea for another image of this fungus - so there may be further blips to come. Don’t worry, I will eventually run out of ‘F’ adjectives for alliteration purposes…. :-)
