A second batch of flowers on the Christmas cactus

I was surprised that new buds formed on the Christmas cactus. the first set of flowers suddenly drooped and died looking as if the plant was on its last legs. I haven't had one for many years as I preferred a similar plant with much smaller leaves, but that reached its zenith last year and needed a replacement.

This plant grew from very humble beginnings last spring and as usual hasn't been over cared for. So I'm pleased that this second of three new buds is looking much healthier than the last ones. When it finally flowers I might have a go at another macro shot of its delicate inner features.  Possibly.
