The stars in the blackened sky

I made it outside today. We were running out of milk.

The waxing crescent moon looked lovely, but my photo of it didn’t come out. At home, I noticed the stars scattered across the blackness. I took a picture of them instead.

I watched a programme over Christmas that said they probably saw a conjunction of two planets, which happened with rare frequency that year.

I’m really pleased with how the photo turned out, once I’d adjusted the black point: there are more stars in the photo than I could actually see! I notice Orion is having a lie down. I don’t recognise any other constellations; do you?

Thanks again for your loveliness yesterday. I’m all better now :)
