Yet another shopping trip this morning as we continue to stock up on stuff that's missing. Including vital items such as gin and poppadoms.

After yesterday's little adventure, we decided we might as well leave Mystère to his own devices, so we let him out when we got up and left him to it. He's been much more of a sensible senior cat today. He was at home when we got back from the shops and spent much of the rest of the morning strolling proprietorially around the garden, looking relaxed. He even stretched out on a sunlounger at one point, till he realised that lying in the midday sun when you are black and fluffy can get a bit uncomfortable.

Having lunched at home two days running, we went out to our second favourite restaurant, La Corregidora, for lunch. Like the Balcón, it's also within walking distance of home! Admittedly a stiff hike uphill, made stiffer by S's steep uphill detour for avoiding a walk along the hard shoulder of the very fast and non-pedestrian-friendly N340. Here's the view when we got to the top of his detour. Sharp-eyed regular viewers might be able to detect my favourite building.

An English couple at a nearby table had ordered lamb for their main courses, and we were amused by their shocked faces when they got a whole leg of lamb each  :) We know by now to share, but for once we ordered a starter each. Mine was a mighty contribution to my five a day (extra): it features salad leaves, bananas, kiwi fruit, pineapple, mango, strawberries, grapes, pomegranate seeds, and a mango vinaigrette. I love a Costa Tropical salad. S ordered giant prawns cooked in salt and got a truly massive plateful which would have been enough for two -- even he struggled to finish it. We shared a slab of salt cod with mango mousse and spicy ratatouille for the main course -- it was just enough, no dessert needed. Then a nice mostly downhill walk back to digest. As I type, Mystère is dozing beside me and the sky is turning pink over the sea ... love this view!
