A Gorgeous Day!

Wow, to wake up to NO rain! What a concept. It was still cloudy and we decided to head to the Arboretum, where we often walk on Sunday mornings. But tomorrow I will be on an airplane headed to Palm Springs (!) so we took advantage of the clear morning. The Witch Hazel (Hamamelis mollis) are in full bloom right now. Always such a cheerful sight this time of year, especially on trees laden with lichen and moss. So quintessentially Pacific NW!

No grandchildren today - my granddaughter had a play date and I was actually relieved to have the time to get ready for my trip tomorrow. 

The afternoon was lovely and sunny, although I was inside the whole time...but I'll have sun tomorrow!
