Snowy sidewalk

Another dinner picked up from Corner Tavern. We used to order inside, but there were long waits, so now we've been calling ahead. Genius! We get our food when we show up and don't have to wait inside and risk catching COVID from the idiots who think indoor dining is a smart idea.

Speaking of idiots, another older friend has COVID. She's in her late 50s/early 60s. Her dad has it too. She's unvaccinated and very anti-vaccine, though she refuses to call herself anti-vaccine. She announced on Dec. 31 on Facebook that she and her son had it. A week later she said she and her 80-something dad were "very sick." A few days later, she said he was feeling better, so she took him to eat inside a restaurant so he'd gain some weight back. She also listed the names of six friends who have died recently, I assume from the virus, though she didn't specify.

I want to scream. They could still be sick, yet they're going inside a restaurant because this stupid country has returned to "normal" despite the virus raging here worse than anywhere else.

I don't understand it. It makes me so angry. And my mom's still not vaccinated. I feel lost and helpless.
