Orkney Sundown

And so it continues.  The temerity to start a sentence with an and.  A glorious day and much deserved; the forecast for the coming week looks bleak.  We went along to Primrose Bank to say cheerio to Emily MacLeod who is away south to continue her studies.  We received an update (from two sources) about Sandy Robertson’s boat going adrift and the coastguard having to attend.  It was such a beautiful day we decided to walk right round Midland Hill.  We walked down to Orakirk , on returning to the main road, we had a thorough debrief with Angus.  He told us the history of the pressure washer.  CMC didn’t take notes.  Angus also told us that he saw Hazel getting on the Hoy Head with her guitar, so if you have been trying to get hold of Hazel that may explain things.  There was a fleeting glimpse of Jim Friskin.  We eventually caught up with Eleanor (Angus’ wife) by Grindalay House and chummed her along the road.  She compared tattie soup recipes with CMC. We called Myrtle to arrange to meet her in the pierhead café in Stromness the morn (if you can all be there). It was indeed all going on.  It was the kind of day that Jack Kerouac couldn’t have coped with.  And so back to my Observer’s Book of Helsinki Suburbs.
