Beginning The New Year With An Ending

We all knew it was coming some day soon.  Today turned out to be that day.  At the end of the service, Mike made it official that he is retiring from his official position on our church staff.  He and Sallie plan to remain active participants in church ministries which brought a sigh of relief from the church as a whole because we love them so much as friends and members of our church family.  In other news from FBC this morning, the choir was back in the loft and the orchestra was back on the stage!  You already know why there are no pictures of that.  After the time of worship and praise, Pastor Wes drew us back into our study of Phillipians with one of my favorite passages, found in chapter 2, verses 14-16 about how we are to do everything that God leads us to do without grumbling or complaining.  That doesn't mean that we obey like robots without thinking or feeling, but there is a right way and a wrong way to deal with any legitimate questions we may have about what He leads us to do. Our concern should ultimately be to give glory to God and draw others to Him through the example of our lives, not staying in and maintaining our comfort zone......
