Mono Monday: Fact or Fiction

The info on this old footpath sign was indeed ‘fact’ and led to Weybourne. You might be surprised at how old and battered it is….I’m surprised to find a footpath sign at all (Norfolk folk don’t seem to think they’re needed). H took me a different route today for a lovely 4-4.5 mile walk. For my record it started from the Holgate Hill car park, down across the Heath to Kelling, along to Weybourne, back up across the road and back up to the car park via the Heath and the track the car park side of the railway line.  H knows the area very well, but I need to record it on an app as there are few formal footpaths, but lots of informal ones that don’t appear on maps.

Day 665 / Day 32 of Plan B (for my record only)
There were 142,224 new cases reported today. Pfizer says a vaccine targeting the Omicron variant will be ready in March. Italy has toughened restrictions such that those who are unvaccinated will be unable to use public transport, coffee shops, gyms, hotels etc unless they have recently recovered from a Covid infection. Boris says that free LFTs will be made available for ‘as long as necessary’ and that ministers are considering reducing the isolation period for fully vaccinated people. A new peer reviewed study has found that high levels of T cells from the common cold can help protect against Covid. A three month agreement has again been struck with private hospitals for the NHS to use spare capacity if needed due to Covid pressures. Two thirds of UK adults are now thought to have had a booster /third vaccine.  IKEA has cut sick pay for unvaccinated staff needing to self-isolate due to Covid exposure - seems difficult to enforce to me. Pope Francis has suggested that getting vaccinated is a ‘moral obligation’. Djokovic won his appeal in court to stay in Australia, but the Govt is reviewing the case.
