Tagus at Dusk

We had a meal planned with the Amigos tonight in Évora (waaay too long since we got together), so decided to take advantage of being halfway, and go to Lisbon to the Swedish store to buy some chairs.

Never have we been in and out of either the store or Lisbon so quickly. Drove back over the Vasco da Gama bridge to Alcochete, a town on our side of the Tagus, and had a nap in the car. Woke up to the sun disappearing over the horizon beyond the bridge; this is what I got by the time I'd got my boots on and out onto the beach - you can just about make out the dome of the Panteão Nacional in the buildings on the Lisbon side.

And then a leisurely meal with the Amigos, a real pleasure to be together again, and catch up with each other.

Gratefuls:
- six new ash wood chairs, strong and comfy
- getting safely home again
- seeing a fox disappearing into the bushes as we drove up our lane

Oh, and a happy birthday to my sister in Texas, glad she's getting better.
