Glenkeen

A grey and murky day enlivened by an afternoon visit to Glenkeen with Finola and Anne. This amazing spot right down at the water's edge overlooking Roaringwater Bay was the home of the late Ulrike Crespo , a renowned photographer, artist and sculptor. After her death she left instructions that young artists should benefit from a residency here.  We all wished we were a bit younger for this is an idyllic spot. Finola writes about it here. The views are sublime - that's Jeremy Irons' castle from a different view to to the other day. But the gardens are also incredible, all careful planted and landscaped to look artless and artful (is that possible?) There are some large and intriguing sculptures dotted around including the Cows and Calves  - see extra, each barrow full of catmint! And continuing to namedrop, Saoirse Ronan is just next door!
