The Amazonian Dart

Today we walked from Totnes to Sharpham along the Dart, on a beautiful cold day. We love this walk and always start with a coffee sitting outside on the pavement at The Plains watching the people passing by. The walk takes you above the river as you cannot walk on the bank on the side that leads to Sharpham. We hardly saw anyone. Sharpham is an estate with a vineyard. It produces wine and cheese and holds workshops and courses in the Manor House. You can go on retreat there. We went on a free mindfulness course once and I fell asleep. The wine and cheese shop and cafe was closed but there was a helpful sign for those on retreat - Retreatants please walk this way. Extras. It is a peaceful place which looks down on the river towards Totnes. The river Dart stood in for the Amazon in the Onedin Line. There was a nice light on the Cornish Shrimper -extra 2 - moored off Vire Island on the river in the morning. I last blipped this on 20July 2012.

Bird of the day was a Reed Bunting, added to our 2022 list.
Frittata of the day ( we were in Totnes) was an Italian omelette with seasonal veg.
