Ready to sew

Jacqui and Fletch came for coffee, and MrM took most of the morning off and sat with us, much to Fletch's delight. He's supposed to be on a doggy diet.

The fabric for the bedroom curtains arrived yesterday, so before lunch I nipped down to the local haberdashery shop for some curtain header tape, thread and some new pinking shears. The shop is open for only a few hours a week at present as the owner has had to go away for a while. The lady standing in for her eventually found the items on my list, and then it came to payment. "I've practised this", she said, looking at the card reader and a hand-written list of instructions. But her check list doesn't cover every eventuality, especially not the possibility that the ink might run out! To cut a long story short, the receipt was blank, resulting in some blind-panic button pressing. The transaction disappeared and I left the shop with the goods, not knowing whether or not I had paid, but no matter. If payment doesn't show up on my account in a couple of days, I'll nip down to the shop again, with cash.

Spent most of the afternoon in the 'yard. Lots of tidying, hydrangea repotted, and a big trellis (victim of Storm Arwen) is now back where it should be, but still needs to be firmly fixed. Hopefully MrM will help with that some time! Eventually came indoors just after 4.30pm - just enough time to tackle a couple of chores before yoga.
