Approaching Schull from the west end

Schull (pronounced Skull) is a small village on the south coast of the Mizen peninsula in southwest Ireland - it's a pretty place with Mount Gabriel behind it to the north and Roaring Water Bay and the islands of Sherkin, Cape Clear, Long Island and some smaller ones to the south. In the summer the harbour fills up with sailing boats, grateful to find everything they need in the village - pubs, shops, restaurants, nice walks and friendly people.

This is the older, less used west end but I find it pretty - shame about the electricity wires as it looks much as it's always done apart from them.

I work occasionally in my sister's craft shop called Heron Gallery and am glad to avail of the photogenic quality of the town and its environs. Gorgeous blue day today - the sea was clear and aquamarine and delicious.
