Goldfinches

The day barely broke as fog clouded the garden, the bird feeding area has been busy including a rare visit from a Song Thrush, Mr. Bullfinch has also been around.  The Goldfinches are many in number and mob the seed feeder daily.

I went out for a walk late afternoon after the fog had lifted, The sun was large and bright, the horizon pinkish. Suddenly the sun dipped behind a low bank of cloud  the sky dulled to a milky white.  It could have been spectacular. It was soggy walking on the pitches and air temperature was below freezing.  It made for an energetic 30 min tramp about.
