Light and Shade

Back behind the castle, the morning sun has broken through the light cloud cover and we watch a lone fisherman set out to make his catch. Caught by the sun against the shadowed arches of the bridge, both fisherman and boat glow yellow against the blackness.

Along the estuary, crossing from one side to the other, we encounter redshanks, curlews, close-to-mature cygnets and a heron, all enjoying the river in both light and shade. By now the sun has gone.

Apologies for an uncharacteristically brief journal entry tonight, but I’m feeling rather tired and defeated today. Thank you for the lovely comments, stars and hearts for my last two blips, and apologies for the lack of comments tonight. I’ll catch up in the morning - or tonight if I can’t sleep!
