SNOWY SUNDAY

We had light "lake effect" snow all day yesterday.....light, fluffy flakes. An entire shovel full weighed practically nothing...mostly air between the ice crystals. The sun shone on it this morning and it was beautiful.

EXPLANATION: Lake Effect Snow is when we get an east wind blowing across Lake Michigan. There's nothing to stop it from picking up all sorts of moisture and then depositing it as snow farther inland as the ambient temperature cools. Sometimes it falls as truck loads of snow...sometimes, like yesterday, it's a gentle falling snow that is quite beautiful.
