Why did I come in here?

Chem. double period Tuesdays

Mr Holroyd was an odd bod. he taught music and chemistry. Music was his first love but chemistry was the main reason he came into contact with the underclass known as 4C at Aylesbury Grammar School. His finest moment was creating coal gas; upon completion of the construction of his apparatus and noting that coal gas was in fact bubbling into the flask at the far end he calmly told us the easiest way to check for leaks in the system was to run a lit match along the line. He lit the match, got half way along the glass tubing when there was one of those Beano moments. Although showered with glass we were in hysterics. Health & Safety? :-))

He became choirmaster at Bath, less dangerous by far, he was never allowed to light candles.

This is sulphur, part of the by product of underground mining for tin. If you know where it is in the periodic table bravo; if you don't then I am not alone on the planet.
