Staunch old tree …

….. standing out against the Remarkable Mountains. That golden grass really was that colour.
We walked a fair way this morning, while it was still cool, and overcast. We turned off the Queenstown Trail track onto the Twin Rivers Track and walked over Thompson’s Hill down to the Kawarau River. Unfortunately we never reached the river bank as the track bent away from the river.
So hot this afternoon! I took Missy down to the lake and we both got very wet. Missy is the cleanest she’s been for a long time. She loved it.
