Whitstable Harbour

As it was a further brilliant day of fine , sunny weather we took lunch to the north Kent coastal town of Whitstable, a favourite place and walk of ours.

A coffee and a flat scone gave us the energy to walk along the coastline towards Tankerton and beyond. We sat on the shingle against a groyne facing the sun for lunch. Delightful.

We could see for miles, the horizon was clear and sharp. Plenty of wild swimmers out “enjoying” the calm waters.

The way back was into the setting sun. Marvellous light and colours in the sea and reflecting off the beach huts giving them a burnished appearance.

We were tempted to call in at the Old Neptune for fish and chips. The smell along the prom was very tempting. We even thought about driving down to the Pilot at Dungeness. We resisted as we’re visiting friends tomorrow and it is always a good food day!

Thank you for the concern for Susan’s hip. What with her hip and foot I seem to be giving the impression that she’s crocked. She’s not! They’re long term problems and we walked over 8 miles today.

I had good news today about the atrial flutter I’d been experiencing in recent months. The consultant gave me the all clear. The stress test I had last year revealed no anomalies in the heart’s plumbing. It’s just something I have to live with. Next checkup in 2 years!
