Today marked the start of the big Isle of Wight remote working experiment. And when this is the view from the place we are renting you have to wonder if it will be an experiment or not.

We spent most of the day shopping.  It was not immediately obvious to us that this apartment was up quite such a steep hill.  It will help us get fitter over the month and, given how many times we have done it today, we might already be fitter.  Of course we wandered to Shanklin seafront and had brunch at Poppins but mainly we set-up computers, planned our working environment and stocked cupboards.  The apartment is lovely: it appears to have been recently refurbished and everything is modern and clean. There’s a good supply of the basics (plates, cups, glasses etc.) but not too many so we will be making plenty of use of the dishwasher.  Our final stop of the day was Poundland for a mat to stop my computer stand from scratching the table and some laundry bags so that we have somewhere to store our washing.  We did spend quite a it of time looking out of the window.
