Smyths

Tonight I went out with some friends to see The Smyths, a Smiths tribute band. I am not a massive fan of tribute bands but these chaps are good, especially Graham who is a fine tribute to Mozza, and plays it very well. In fact if you drop the focus a little it is a lot like the real thing.

The evening was a sell out and was a proper Friday night Pompey gig with lots of people going for it to their favourite tunes, some of them going for it a little too much for security at times.

I have seem Mozza live a couple of times and am always intrigued by the devotion of the fans and their need for him. What is even more intriguing is how some of this devotion will even spill towards a tribute.

Anyway it was a very fun and funny night.
