Hydrangeas

I have to confess, it’s an EB tonight as it’s been a dreadful day today and impossible to get out to take an image outside as it hasn’t stopped raining the entire day.  The rain gauge was telling me 40mm overnight and it just kept going.  These wonderful Hydrangeas were a gift from our dear friend Marg G.  The one on the left is absolutely enormous.  One of the biggest flower heads I’ve ever seen.  They were sitting on top of the wood fired heater until we decided it was so cold that we would light the fire.  Can you believe it, the middle of summer and we’re lighting the fire!!

It’s been a day full of great tragedy in Australia again today.  So many lives lost through Covid and another of a beautiful little nine year old girl who had been missing in the Blue Mountains.  Sad news came through late this afternoon that she had been murdered.  Perhaps the rain drops today were tear drops.  I’m sure many tears have been shed over the enormous loss of life.
