Frilly Fungus

A wet morning, so much jigsaw puzzling was done and the first of our ‘new’ puzzles is nearing completion. We also had a trip to the supermarket in Wetherby which was very quiet.

I wandered out to the woods in search of fungi - and look what I found, as I didn’t get distracted by horses as I was yesterday. I believe that this wonderful frilly fungus is Turkey Tail - but you need to see it from above to see the semi-circular fan shaped stripy lobes that give it its name.

The sun was setting over my left shoulder as I took this and the last of the light was just catching the underside as I took this (around about 4 p.m.).

Much frillier in LARGE :-)
