More lost time

We made it out for a walk today after our 'bitty' day yesterday, and I have continued the theme of lost time by choosing this photo of a long-defunct clock. It's on a building which used to be the lodge to a large house, beside which was the stable block (to the left). I love the way functional buildings were decorated as richly as the grander ones in days gone by.

Incidentally, we discovered why my husband lost his scarf on Monday, although we didn't actually find it. He feels the cold and wears a gilet inside his padded jacket – both of which are made of a slippery material. He's never had a problem with his scarf before, but recently has treated himself to a compact camera which he can put in his pocket when we're out walking, and he took it out for the first time on Monday. (If you can't beat 'em, join em.) So the constant lifting of his arms to take photos that day caused the scarf to start slipping – which we discovered today, when he was wearing a replacement scarf (thank you, speedy DPD!) and realised that one end of the new scarf soon started slipping right down below his jacket ...

We both feel better for knowing that the lost scarf wasn't caused by a senior moment, and he's decided he's definitely going to tie the new scarf in a knot in future so it can't slip down and disappear.
