Ruddy Turnstone

Trying to get out early before fatigue changes my mind.

As is becoming a habit I headed for town and a coffee to start the day. Today however I also took my camera and backpack. Which as far as my back was concerned was not a good idea.

Newtons Cove is just by the tree in yesterdays Blip and I spotted a flock of Ruddy Turnstones foraging through the weed that had washed up on the shoreline.

I spent a good few minutes watching and taking images of these birds until a very helpful chap started to talk to me about them. He stated they were a very pretty bird when in flight and proceeded to bang his walking stick on the sea wall to scare them into flight.

I must admit they are a lovely bird when in flight. Shame they weren't anywhere near me anymore to carry on photographing.

Thank you kind chap.

I've added an extra. Taken in Nothe Garden.
