The market was closed!!!!

Max and I woke early and had an idyllic walk along the beach at dawn, saw the fisherman coming in with their catch and local huts where the locals live on the beach, nets drying in trees and chickens running around.

We decided to take a local tour, first stop the hot springs, we were expecting a natural wonder but actually it was a swimming pool choca block with people, we didn't go in, then an amazing Buddhist temple, really beautiful place, then swimming with dolphins but when we got there it was a super posh hotel with a zoo which cost a fortune so we declined, then an overpriced buffet by the sea and a trip to a market that was pretty much closed due to a religious festival, lots of rubbish and trotters lying around and an appalling stench! Some amazing views and sights such as a man with a massive swordfish on the back of a motorbike and a lady with an impossibly high pile of dried leaves on her head wearing a Metallica t-shirt.
It was all very interesting however! Here are the boys at the market lol ;-). The expressions say it all.
We also went to a massive supermarket and on the top floor there were dodgems which the boys loved, only 25p a go!

Our friends Karin (Karin Kroeze photography on blip) husband Bert and daughters Abbie and Pippa are here on holiday too so we met up with them to look at the turtles, then we had drinks here at our resort and then wandered along the beach to theirs for a lovely dinner, they used to live in Teddington and Karin and I met when we were pregnant with Gulli and Pippa at NCT ante natal classes, Pippa is one day older than Gulli! They now live in Antwerp, so lovely to see them!
