‘A Wild and Windy Day’

No parkrun today, even at Edinburgh, which was forced to cancel when the already gale force wind worsened into something approaching a hurricane just after dawn broke this morning - just as we were about to head out the door.

It was a good call as, shortly before parkrun was due to start at 9.30, a huge tree was blown down, blocking the prom, not far from where the run starts.

A near miss since, a few minutes later, up to 500 runners and walkers would have been passing the spot!

With over half the Scottish parkruns, and all the other parkruns still within striking distance at this stage, cancelled, we changed back out of our running gear and went for a walk in the park to get a substitute ‘blow’ of fresh air.

The clouds suddenly started to darken as I looked out towards the city to reveal the wildly dramatic skyline…
