‘Decomposition’

Went for a jog along the Telford and Ferry Road walkways - former railway lines to the west and north of Edinburgh. Spotted this tree stump - fascinating to study the detail of how it is decaying, and how the various types of vegetation are gradually consuming it. (Best viewed large.)
