Pete's Raincoat: An Untold Story

After a lovely day of all things Weddingy, on this bright, sun shiney Sunday morning in Ware, we arose, bleery-eyed & went in search of our breakfast.

All the clan were present & correct for our breaky gathering, & having munched down our sizeable cooked breakfasts & relieving the buffet of a few muffins-to-go, we said our goodbyes, gave our best wishes & set off back to Sussex.

A shortish journey later, where 3/4's of the team napped (thankyou Ma for driving!), we arrived in Ucky & had just enough time for a cuppa, a slice of Wedding cake & a chin wag with my delightful step-grandaparents, Pete & Betty.

In this scene, Betty was regailing with the tale of Pete's old rain coat. Apparently, as the story goes, the gas man had popped in to fit the gas fridge in P & B's house (this was some time ago might I add). During which time, Betty noticed a man collapsed on the pavement outside. On closer inspection, she discovered that he had ceased to be. This unsurprisingly had shocked poor Betty, who then promptly rushed inside, & as you may have guessed it.. grabbed Pete's old rain coat to cover the unfortunate chap. She then informed the gas man, who said he would take care of it.

Despite the sensitive subject matter, it did have us all chuckling, particularly as today seemed to be the first Pete had heard of the fate of his old rain coat.
