A Monkey's Tale

Emeli Sande

Flashforward to this evening. Hammersmith Apollo, London.

A buzz of excitement & anticipiation rippels around the crowd as the lights suddenly dim & the music fades out. Enter the amazing Emeli Sande. Her characterful & smooth-moving backing singers & talented band flank her on both sides. A piano sits behind her. A microphone sits & many adoring fans stand in front. Mic on!

What a fantastic gig! She was incredible. She looked great & sang so beautifully. Although she hasn't been around too long, she has achieved a tremendous amount & created some beautiful songs - you must go see if you love someone who can simply sing.

On a sombre note, I was saddened to hear of the death of Margaret Thatcher. What a woman, what a politician. I have a great deal of respect for the courage, drive & conviction she showed during her time as Prime Minister. She did her job & lead the country through a period of discontent & stagnation into the modern world from the front throughout. Like or dislike, her & her governments efforts were created out of necessity & are a product of the time & will undoubtedly be felt for years to come, not just in the UK but throughout the world.

Thankyou for making politics so interesting Maggie.
