Taj Mahal

We visited Son#3 & his partner this morning and were delighted to see his finished Lego* model of the Taj Mahal - we've had some blow-by-blow accounts of his progress for quite a while (I think some of the "blows" were when their cats had a little accident with it!) so it was good to see it in all its glory. He seems to find Lego a good way to relax from his busy job. (This model has 5,923 pieces so building it wasn't a quick task.)

He was lucky enough to be able to get the kit on eBay which was lucky as it's no longer available new - and of course it meant he didn't have to pay the full new price. Only a few bricks were missing - fortunately none of the specialised ones so to replace them he was able to raid the large stock of generic Lego which he & his brothers still seem to like storing at our house...!

Sadly he doesn't have room to keep it made up for long so I took the chance to grab a shot while I had the chance. In true blip fashion I took the photo myself but borrowed my Editor's phone as it has a better camera than mine (how did I allow that to happen I wonder?!). Of course it was silly of me to go without my "proper" camera.

(*Other construction toys are available.)
