"Protests" - Day 2

On Day 2 of the Judean Popular Front's protest in Ottawa against the People's Front of Judea holding an annual Campaign for a Free Galilee rally in the Wawa Super Bowl, things turned ugly. The police stood by and watched, not wanting to hand out tickets or make arrests in case it "provoked confrontations". This is new for the police in Ottawa, who usually break up any protest involving an aboriginal person and a stroller within five minutes of its starting.

Then the Judean People's Front made a tactical mistake. Emboldened by being allowed to use the sidewalks as a public toilet; carry Swastika flags; carry F@ck Trudeau banners; having MPs from the Conservative Party bring them Tim Hortons coffee; block off every street in the downtown core; harass women, blacks and Asians walking through the street; remove barricades from Parliament Hill; attack homeless people outside a homeless shelter; etc. etc. etc,, they finally pissed off the centurions, daubing "Romani ite domum" on a wall and festooning the Terry Fox statue with sundry shite. Add that to dancing and urinating on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and well, someone was due a really good ticking off.

Most noticeable in the absence of Conservative voices has been that of Ontario's elected Premier Teletubby in Toronto (although in fairness, the fat meff might not know where Ottawa is). Not a word has come from his mouth, which means he is either in the middle of a three-day binge, or he's eating again. Or, perhaps, that his daughter was pictured with the protesters waving one of the F@ck Trudeau flags.

Either way it's jolly naughty of these people. One day someone will have to explain to them the difference between "freedom to" and "freedom from".
