Coldgate Water

A late start on a very gloomy, grey day. It was quite still early on, the calm before the storm as 'Corrie' is apparently on her way. Did a couple of loads of washing just in case the power goes off again, and caught up with emails.

In the afternoon MrM and I went for a short walk in Happy Valley. Lots of trees have come down or been torn in half, mostly by Arwen, and through the woods we passed great piles of sawn up trunks and branches. As we walked we kept our eyes open for partially fallen trees, but there were none by the track. It's rained very little in the last month, and Coldgate Water is very low. As we walked back through the field beyond the woods, the wind was starting to build up, and it was no surprise when we got home to discover that there had been another power cut.

One more shortish power cut later in the evening and - touch wood - since then it's been OK part from the lights flickering occasionally. Hoping it stays that way, but the storm is raging!
