Life is a Challenge!

British Summer Time?

Well, here we are again, down at the beach on the South Coast of England - and it is ffffreezing!

Called in to see an old friend who is now working for the Council and he pointed out to us that the air temperature today was 6C whereas the sea temperature was 7.3C - so thought I might go for a quick swim!

You will see there were no takers for the sunbeds, but two brave souls were sitting in deckchairs and braving the bitterly cold wind.

After meeting another friend for a coffee at our favourite beachside cafe, we decided to go for a walk along the pier and on the way back I spotted these guys who were on a Lifeguards' Training Course, so I persuaded them to pose for a photograph - good job they have wet suits as even 7.3C is not that warm!

Spoke to a Lifeguard a bit further along who said that he had just got back from Bali and it was rather warmer over there - well, anywhere would be warmer than here today, methinks.

We seem to be having very unseasonal weather at the moment, so it can only get better but I do think that perhaps we need to rename BST - British Summer Time - to BISFT - British It's Still Freezing Time!

Must dash as I need to go and get warmed up after my swim - sorry no photographs today - maybe tomorrow!!
