Oh, rats!

Another grey day today, but I brought my camera out with me when we went for our daily walk just in case I saw anything worth stopping to photograph. I almost gave up hope, but on our way back I decided that an old tree trunk, which had fallen across the undergrowth over a long-defunct underground brook, would be my blip for today.

I bent down to set up the shot, only to see a large brown rat dash out and sit on top of the trunk. I wasn't quick enough to press the shutter before it had darted down the side of the tree trunk. I did manage to get a shot of it, which I have put in the extras out of concern for those of nervous disposition ... I'm good like that.
