Snowdrop

A very mild day.  This morning we cycled into town for ukulele class.
This evening we attended the local RSPB monthly  meeting. The speaker was Keith Betton, Hampshire's Bird Recorder (amongst several other distinguished ornithological titles he holds). As always, Keith gave an excellent talk, this time on the state of Hampshire's bird species. Apparently,  Hampshire is  the UK's most important  county for Hawfinch, Firecrest, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker and Honey Buzzard. I have never seen any of these birds as they aren't exactly common, even in  Hampshire!
Climate change  is having an effect on birds in Hampshire. So, we are seeing more egrets, both Little  Egrets  and Great White Egret, while the  Willow Tits are becoming much rarer in as they seek cooler habitats and are moving further north in the  UK. 
Keith is responsible for encouraging Peregrine  Falcons  to return to  Hampshire and has set up the webcam to monitor the  nest on Winchester cathedral. Winchester cathedral Peregrines
Last year, he appeared on BBC Springwatch, explaining  how he cares for Stone Curlews  trying  to nest in Hampshire /Wiltshire fields. Altogether an uplifting talk.
My blip is of a snowdrop in my garden. Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the variety or cultivar. Perhaps someone here will be able to suggest a name.
