Too Early?

This rhododendron is already in flower in Sheringham Park, spotted while walking with B & H this morning.  I've read that rhododendrons can flower between December and March in warmer climates.  However, I'm not sure that I've seen one in bloom around here this early before.

I was reading a BBC News report yesterday that says according to a recent study at Cambridge University, climate change is causing some UK plants to flower a month earlier on average.  This can have a knock-on effect for birds, insects and whole ecosystems.

So, let's hope that I'm wrong and it is normal for these to be displaying blooms at this time of the year.
