Kingfisher #24

We set off this morning with very faint misty rain and a whole lot of cloud, but by the time we'd got to our destination it had brightened up considerably and wasn't windy at all, which was a bonus.
I was hoping to see the kingfisher that we'd missed the past few times we'd been here and we weren't disappointed. He very obligingly sat on this branch for a few moments before diving for a fish and then retreating into the trees. It was a magical few minutes and I was thrilled to have been able to get a photograph. It's a pity he disappeared with his fish and then didn't reappear.
Further on in our walk we found a buzzard hiding in the trees(extra) which I rather liked and we also got to see a treecreeper, goldcrest, a pair of dippers and plenty of the little birds - tits, robins and nuthatches.
It was a very successful couple of hours with plenty to see.
