Jubilee

Tomorrow is 70th anniversary of the day when Queen Elizabeth II acceded the throne following the death of her father King George VI.

Today I have been sorting out a cupboard and came across this glass tankard which belonged to my mam.  It was to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of our Queen's grandfather King George V and his wife Queen Mary.  The Jubilee took place on the 6th May 1935.  My mam would have been almost 11.  I'm not sure who gave it to her.  I have attached a photo of my mam from about that time.

I was born in 1953 which was the year of the coronation.  I remember when I was little I had a coronation plate and cup but I have absolutely no idea what happened to them (they probably were broken).
