Grieving the passing of a loved one and celebrating a birthday at the same time is a difficult combination but I think we found a nice balance. 

For H's birthday we picked up a mint ice cream, a little nod to my Gran as that was her favourite and it started snowing outside. It was a perfect little moment that reminded me of all the times she said it was never too cold for ice cream.
