Skiing again

Another day, another ski trip. We woke up to find snow falling again. It drifted down vertically because there was no wind. After a while the snow stopped falling and the clouds started to break up. Suddenly it was a sunny day!
Not only was it sunny but the sun had some warmth in it. Once again the weather had a distinct spring-winter feel. There was only the lightest of breezes. Definitely a day to be outside.
We went down the hill to the larger lake and x-country skied from the end of the lake, around the corner, and to the beach we swim from in summertime. We didn't sink in to the snow much and the glide was good. It felt warm enough to leave my jacket in my rucksack and start out in a  down vest, and even that ended up in the rucksac too - wonderful weather and skiing conditions!
We both thought the layer of mist on the frozen lake was worth a photo or two.
As we skied the home stretch a cloud moved over the sun and the breeze grew a little more breezy. Suddenly it was winter again, but we were almost back at the car so I didn't need to dig my jacket out.  How quickly the conditions change.
Once home we were back to relaxing in front of the wood-burner, with a cup of tea and some sourdough pancakes.
